Godmodding:
This shouldn't be news to you, but in case it is, this means making sure your character adheres to logic. You may be a lightning-fast demon with TVs for eyes and a tail made out of molten spaghetti, but if someone shoots at you enough times one of the bullets will eventually graze you. In the same vein, don't be the best at everything or always have an answer for the slightest problem (this happens especially when characters are wooing, guys). Those are 'Sueish tendencies, and 'Sues have no place here.
Killing:
Behavior like this is considered godmodding unless you and the corpse-to-be have sorted it out between you and said corpse is in agreement.
Weapons/Magic:
If you're playing a character with loads of power, come up with a way (or a reason) to mute it a little. You can still have it, just don't put it to use in a way that comes across as godmodding, because godmodding sucks for everyone.
Character Accounts:
Character limits are 2 a person. This will not change. Each character MUST have their own account. I want to make it fair for other people to have characters too.
WIPs
WIPs are not the same thing as reservations. Well, all right, they kind of are. But the point is both of them last for a week, so if you reserve a character and post a WIP on the same day, they'll expire at the same time.
Activity Checks
Activity checks run for seven days each month. Just let us know who you're keeping or dropping in the main thread or by PM. Miss an activity check and there's no further grace period. And I know life happens. I don't necessarily expect you to be prepared for it. But if you're gonna be gone for a while, even if it's just to take a break, just pop us a note, 'kay? Otherwise if you miss an activity check and someone else wants your character, that's just the way the cookie crumbles.
Reservations:
If you have reserved characters and go on vacation, they will remain reserved for up to a month (or a day or so after you get back, if that's shorter). Otherwise, reservations last one week. Once on reserve, characters are as good as taken and are not up for audition unless the roleplayer consents.
Manners:
If you don't have them, pretend. Don't be a jerk except to jerks, and then in moderation. If you can't say something nice, sugarcoat it. And, most importantly, do not nag people to post. This is probably the most annoying thing you can do. A reminder once in a while is fine, if they haven't been getting back to you for a week or so, but don't get onto them like the living dead.
Language:
Language is set at PG-13. Don't be dropping the F-bomb everywhere, and we'll all have a great time, kay?
Icons/Signatures:
I really shouldn't have to tell you this, but if you want an icon and sig, it needs to feature your own character (if there's another character or two in there, that's fine as long as yours is there). Also, make sure your icons/sigs don't stretch the page. Not all of us have mammoth screens, and we don't want to have to scroll sideways to read each line just because someone in the thread has Sephiroth's sword in their sig.
Literacy:
Spelling and grammar are your best friends. Put them to work for you. Post length depends on the thread itself; if you're both going back and forth with a paragraph or so, that's fine. If one of you is writing a novel and the other one's only responding with a paragraph or so, that's not. On a related note, if you've read these rules, the password is oblivion's path . Make sure your posts fit the situation, or if you absolutely can't beef it up anymore try to do better on the next post. People put a lot of hard work into these things, it's only fair that they get a proper response.
Organization Members:
Because I'm elitist as hell when it comes to the number that's in the Organization. Here's the down low-THERE ARE ONLY 14 MEMBERS OF THE ORGANIZATION There will be NO OC Members allowed WHATSOEVER so don't even think about it. There are plenty of other characters to choose from.
Acceptance:
This part's easy. If you're posting in a thread when your character hasn't yet been accepted, you're going to get smacked with a fish. I mean it. We may not be as fast as you, but you still gotta get approved before you get involved. So. WAIT FOR ADMIN APPROVAL
Topics:
We're not sticklers, but generally timing should happen in the order of each thread posted. Also, liquid timing is allowed, as long as you can handle multiple threads.
WARNINGS
If you screw up and violate one of these rules, you will be warned. If you keep screwing up in the same way, God willing you will be warned again. The third time, you will be banned for a week to think about what you've done. The fourth time, it's goodbye and good riddance
